Seersucker is characterized by its intentional puckering. Seersucker is an excellent warm weather shirt because the puckering keeps the fabric away from the skin which is good for heat dispersion.

Seersucker became popular with the British in India during the colonial period. The name Seersucker comes from Hindi words, sheer and shakar - which translates into milk and honey.

The past two years we offered Seersucker in the Spring; the fabric came from Japan. This year we changed to a Seersucker from an Italian mill. The Italian mill is small, it employees only about 30 people, and specializes only in a few fabrics. This new Seersucker is all cotton, a little heavier than the previous Seersucker, and overall is a true luxury fabric.

Seersucker is traditionally stripes and checks. This rust check is mostly brown with hints of maroon - the base is vintage white (not bright white). This shirt matches up well with tan and navy bottoms.

    • All cotton 150 gr/m
    • Fused collar, cuffs, and plackets
    • Standard curved hemline
    • Dry clean or machine wash cold, hang dry
