28 inch inseam jeans for men

Hemming a 30 inch inseam to 28 inches changes the original construction. The leg opening widens, the jean looks hemmed, and the fades from the original hem are lost. A 28 inch inseam is cut and washed to 28 inches.

Finding your inseam takes one measurement and a pair of jeans that already fit well. Lay them on a flat, rigid surface. Smooth out the fabric and keep the outseam straight. Place a measuring tape at the middle of the crotch seam, where the two legs meet. Extend the tape to the bottom hem.

Todd Shelton inseams are measured before shipping with a tolerance of ¼ inch. A 28 inch inseam ships between 27¾ and 28¼ inches. All-cotton denim shrinks up to ½ inch after several launderings. If your measurement falls between 28 and 29 inches, order 28.

Leg opening width determines how the jean sits on your footwear. Leg opening width is published for every size in the size chart and applies to every jean regardless of inseam length. Hemming a longer jean to 28 inches makes the leg opening wider than intended.
