When daily temperatures consistently drop below 60 degrees, Flannel 160 g provides excellent comfort without feeling heavy.
Over the years, we’ve run flannel shirt weights from 130 g to 220 g. We’re run different yarn constructions and varying degrees of flannelling. We’re confident that Flannel 160 g is the right weight for a flannel shirt to be worn indoors, comfortably, throughout the day.
Flannel shirt fabrics are woven like any other shirt fabric. The finishing process, flannelling, is the difference. After weaving, the fabric is sent through a machine with rollers that have fine teeth. The teeth agitate the fibers and raise them to the surface. These raised fibers create the softness that flannel is known for.
